Game terminology and features
What is a Mentar?
The Mentar hovers over a particular tile of the property and detects and collects E-ther on a daily basis, which can be transformed into Essence. It also converts Essence into Resources. Slotted jewels have influence on all production parameters as well as E-ther evaporation and detection rates.
What is E-ther?
Tiles are able to evaporate E-ther, which can be detected by the Mentar and claimed by the player. Collected E-ther can be transformed into Essence.
What is Essence?
Essence is the central resource of Earth 2. It is created through transforming E-ther, which evaporates from tiles and is detected by the Mentar.
Why are Resources valuable on Earth 2? Which Resources are available?
Resources are needed to build anything on Earth 2, from building blocks to fully-fledged buildings.
So far, the following Resources exist:
- Oil
- Coal
- Gold
- Limestone
- Freshwater
- Wood
- Sand
- Iron
They are woven by the Mentar from Essence. How well Weaving performs is dependent on the natural occurrence of resources in the ground, which is based on real world data.
Slotted Jewels, the number and tier of tiles as well as the state of a property’s industry, all affect speed as well as efficiency of Resource Weaving.
Resources are simulated as physical assets and need storage room to be held and used. Transporting them to another property will cost Resources and time.
Resources can be traded between players on the Bazaar.
What is an EPL?
EPL is the abbreviation for Earth2 Property Locator, a systematically generated string that uniquely identifies a distinct Property. Under certain conditions, the EPL can be customized by a player to make it more recognizable.
What are EcoSim Buildings?
EcoSim Buildings are a special, preset type of building with a specific purpose inside the Economic Simulation. They can be categorized as follows:
The Mentar: which generates Resources and yields Essence through detecting and converting E-ther.
Storage Buildings: that can store a certain number of Storage Units, which translate into a set volume of Resources.
Industry Buildings: which convert Resources into Building Blocks and assets.
Research Buildings: which are needed to research blueprints.
Only the Mentar is implemented so far.
What is a Storage Unit?
A Storage Unit is the unit of measurement for storage space on a property.
Freshwater and Gold, for example, have a vastly different value to volume ratio. To make storage room a factor for both resources equally, storage room is measured in Storage Units instead of cubic meters.
Every Resource has its own volume to Storage Unit conversion rate, making sure storage room is a valid factor during gameplay for every Resource, instead of being irrelevant for some and stultifying for others.
What are Building Blocks?
A Building Block is a prefabricated part needed to create Assets, e.g. steel beams or bricks.
They are created from Resources through Industry Buildings.
They can be traded on the Bazaar in the future.
What is an Asset?
An Asset is the umbrella term for singular finished products physically present on properties, e.g. a house, a drone, a marketing billboard or a pen.
They are created from Building Blocks through Industry Buildings.
They can be traded on the Bazaar in the future.
What are Blueprints?
To create Assets from Building Blocks, the corresponding Blueprint needs to be researched first.
Blueprints can be researched through Research Buildings. This costs Resources and Essence.
What is the function of Jewel Crafting?
Crafting is a tab of the Jewel Storage’s Tab Window. With this feature, players can shatter Jewels into Shards, improve Jewels with Shards and Essence, craft new Jewels using Shards or multiple Jewels from their Inventory as well as unlock and browse Recipes.
What is the function of Jewel Slotting?
The Slotting tab of the Tab Window hosts the functionality for slotting Jewels from the Jewel Inventory into the properties' Mentars. Slotted Jewels will affect a property’s E-ther detection rate and resource production in different ways. Thus, the window also shows the critical information needed for the players to make decisions on what to slot.
What is the Bazaar?
The Bazaar is the place where players check market conditions and buy game assets. It is the ingame auction house of Earth 2.
What is the Marketplace?
The Marketplace is the place where players can trade their properties.
What Is the difference between the Bazaar and the Marketplace?
The Bazaar is where game assets that can be used on Properties are traded, while the Marketplace deals with the trade of the Properties themselves.
What is the Bidding Hub?
The Bidding Hub is where players can easily manage their bidding activity.
What is a Property?
A Property is a parcel of land owned by a player in Earth 2.
